Convictions about Worship

I am inspired to document my convictions about worship as a sort of time capsule. After I wrote about some of my experiences and old beliefs about worship in my years as a new Christian I felt like this could be a good starting point to build from.

Since then, inspiration has been high but as I have sat down and typed, retyped; and in the process lost two finished copies due to bad internet and a hard drive that decided to breathe it’s last breaths; I have actually found the whole process slightly daunting.

The problem is, my convictions about a life of worship mean so much to me than I seem to be able to express. To write a definition of what I believe is either so short and concise that it wouldn’t mean much to anyone else, or on the other side of the coin, when I begin to flesh out my convictions I end up with more words than you would be willing to read.

So after another failed attempt yesterday; good internet, but a borrowed computer that didn’t have the right program; this morning I woke up with what I think was an inspired thought: I will post my ‘worship time capsule convictions’ concisely and then flesh them out one by one as the time feels right.

So here goes….

The Conviction Time Capsule

My convictions about worship:

A Spirit led life, surrendered to His will;

A life lived fully awake to all that He has purposed;

A life continually growing in revelation of who He is and who we are in Him;

And a life poured out for others in the hope that they may come to know His love.

I am so inspired to flesh out each line one by one as the time is right. So, speaking of fleshing them out; across January the theme for my writing will be around my first conviction of worship: living a Spirit led life, surrendered to His will. I really hope that you will join me on this journey.

Would love to hear what your conviction of worship is if you are brave enough to share?

I would love you to subscribe to Contemplative Worship and stay connected to the journey of worship musings.

In Love, Carly xxx
